I liked the way you presented the article, starting from the past heading to the present. What do you think about the future? Will this movement still have an effect in designs? Is there an organization at present that adopt the De stijl movement?

Your images are what caught my attention because those geometric patterns of primary colors filling space I have seen before. Although the design is extreamly simple and clear perhaps a breeze to reproduce it seems that your artist is the father of this particular kind of work. There is a sense of balance in these pieces as well as a sense of imbalance.
ReplyDeleteHis work was pretty close to that of Gerrit Rietveld and his revolutionary chair design. I did like the shoes by Van Doesburg they really catch your attention. I'm not really a fan of the De Stijl movement. I like the outside of the building that was created in honor of the movement but in my preference the primary colors together contrast too much and wouldn't be good for housing or other product designs.
ReplyDeleteHussain-- I really enjoyed the organization of your paper. The subtitles made it easy to follow, and the content kept my interest from beginning to end. Your pictures were very captivating, and aided in the overall development of your artist's work. You also did a very good job explaining how Doesberg has influenced many aspects of architecture, music, and even our lives. Excellent!
